10 raisons d’aller au gym

Are you a fan of training? Of walking? Of sport? Whatever your profile, the evidence is clear: physical activity has a real impact on the quality of life of people who dare to get moving! Think it’s not for you? Think again! Taking your first step in the gym means choosing yourself, prioritizing yourself, but also and above all: having fun. Who said the gym had to be a chore?

At Les Rivières, we are lucky to have an Éconofitness which offers a safe and, above all, low-cost training environment! You will even have access to customized training sessions and circuits to complete in 30 minutes. Still having trouble convincing you? Need some motivation? Here are some arguments that might help.

1- Simply feeling good

After a good training session, the effects are felt immediately. The endorphin rush that comes after training is significant. What a wonderful feeling to return home and feel like you’re floating on a cloud.

2- Boosting confidence

Think exercise is a mountain? Well, it’s not! The more you go to the gym, the more you can improve and gain confidence. The fear of judgment is very real when it comes to training, but trust yourself for a first time. You will see that your sense of competence will increase rapidly. Pssst: to boost your confidence, how about an express shopping trip to get a sports outfit that suits you? It’s just around the corner:D

3- Maintain good muscle strength

As we get older (yes!), we gradually lose muscle strength. But don’t panic! It is possible to maintain your strength with a strengthening program. In addition to making you feel stronger, good muscle tone can have a big impact on your posture and even improve certain back, shoulder and neck pains.

4- Socializing

The last few years have been difficult for everyone on a social level. Going to the gym also means meeting people who care about their health and getting active together. The friendly atmosphere of the gym is always pleasant! As a group, it’s much easier to motivate each other. Just seeing other people will do you the world of good. Train with a friend, it will be harder to skip the gym session if you’re committed!

5- To unhook

Whether you’re working from home or at the office, taking a moment for yourself allows you to turn your brain off. Escape into your head with your favorite playlist and give yourself this moment to unwind.

6- Reduce stress levels

Too stressed to go to the gym? Don’t have time? Well, you’ve come to the wrong place! Instead, think of going to the gym as an investment. The endorphins that are secreted after a workout are likely to reduce stress levels. No excuse for not going!

7- Increase your energy level

Going to train is energizing! Getting out and being active stimulates your whole system. You don’t often regret getting active by going to the gym.

8- Sleep better

After the effort comes a phase of absolute well-being. Think about how good you feel after a good energy expenditure. Your sleep will also benefit. It is said that physical activity not only helps you sleep more deeply but also makes it easier for you to fall asleep

9- Improve your cognitive functions

Does physical training make you smarter? Unfortunately, not quite, but almost! It is said that engaging in physical activity could improve and preserve your cognitive functions. What’s more, it stimulates productivity by activating the body and mind!

10- Have fun!

It’s the key to enjoying training! Choose an activity, a program that suits you and that you enjoy. Working out at the gym shouldn’t be torture. Enjoy sweating, seeing friends and having fun.

Remember:

  • Have fun, no one should take themselves too seriously at the gym
  • Respect your limits
  • Start slowly, with short, spaced-out sessions. Then gradually increase the pace.
  • Consult professionals if in doubt
  • Go for it even if you lack motivation, you won’t regret it!

ENJOY YOUR TRAINING!
